Skybound reflections

I am sitting in my life-size window, holding a cup of coffee in my hands and gazing at the beautiful sky. The two blossom trees across the road seem to smile through their pink flowers. Spring is here. As the setting sun paints the sky with hues of pink and orange, the fluffy clouds glow in the rays of the setting sun. I can't help but think what an amazing artist the universe is. Every day it creates a masterpiece on its vast canvas - the sky. A new day brings with it a new masterpiece, and my mind races with a million questions. Could cloudy sunsets be the universe's way of concealing its art, perhaps out of anxiety on a particular evening? What if the universe is trying to teach us something? Maybe sunsets are the universe's way of telling us that we are capable of creating masterpieces. That every masterpiece w...

A pledge

It is extremely disheartening learning about Sushant Singh Rajput's suicide. It came as a complete shock to us all. He not only left the world, but left something behind for each of us - a thought to ponder upon the mental health awareness in the nation. Money and fame doesn't mean the person is leading a happy peaceful life. A person undergoing a psycho therapy is automatically considered as a " crazy person". This brings shame to the person suffering. Do we even realize that there must be number of people who are scared to seek help just because they are afraid of being judged by the " sane people". We are all at fault. We as a society are responsible for making these people suffer more. The mentality needs to change. Depression, anxiety, panic attacks, etc are NOT to be taken lightly. "Sleep over it. You'll feel fine in the morning" - is NOT the solution for it. Age, gender, profession, status, fame are  NOT  the parameters t...

Newer Self

It's almost end of the year. And as  I take a look back at it,  I realize  the importance of every tiniest of the thing that happened to me.  I have always believed that  " everything happens for a reason and at the perfect time " .  But during bad days ; I even wish I knew the reason and even wondered if there will ever be a perfect time.  It is said that one should forget  about the bad time, once it is done with. But I would like to add  words to it - "Forget about the bad time, once it is done with. But never forget what it taught you."  Not every day is a fairy tale nor is it a nightmare.  Just a different thought and experience.  Over the year, I was also fortunate to have beautiful (inside out) humans around me.   Blessed enough to have additions to the list of people who adore me, respect me for who I am.   And also thankful to the ones   who have stayed with me.     Towards the end o...

Touching the separation

It's ironic how your lips don't touch when   you say "touch"; but they touch when you say "separate". Maybe that tells us that touch and separation isn't something which is strictly physical. Touch is a feeling. Touch is solace! When eyes make contact, souls get connected deeper into the roots. That's touch. When your heart wrenches on hearing a saddening thing, that's touch. When a mother gets happy tears for her child, that's touch. The invisible bond between souls keep us in "touch". Maybe separation is just not about  being apart. Separation can be defined as being physically apart but mentally connected. No matter how physically apart we grow,we are always connected to people through the memories . And that's touch even when physically separated. There are times when you wander off even in the company of someone. You feel the touch physically but you are disconnected emotionally. The bond no longer persist...

Kutta Aadmi

It's said that dog is man's best friend. A dog loves you more than he loves himself. He becomes a part of your world but to him you are the world. Dogs are to be taught how to behave. This is something that is universally accepted. But I beg to differ.I think there are tons of things that  man can learn from dogs. Loyalty ,selflessness, purity of heart, being genuine, loving and so goes the list. Inspite of all these great qualities that dogs possess, they are still used to describe humans who dont stand a chance to be slightest as good as dogs. "He is a dog.She is a bitch.Sala kutta aadmi hai yar wo" .These are some of the phrases that we hear or use everyday whenever a person does something disrespectful or something not so good. Irony!! Maybe we can all change our perspectives a little. - AS

Raindrops

She sat in the window, staring at the rose It was then that the time froze. The rose reminded her of the good times. But thorns gushed to her attention like a devil with  horns .The good times faded and bad memories took over. The slate was no more clean. The tears rolled down her cheeks. The time unfroze ,But her thoughts din't.Unbearable the pain became,Even the sky frowned upon her sadness.N so it cried too.The raindrops now settled on the rose making it fresh. Untangling her mind's mesh.N that's how the raindrops befriended her tears and thus evry time she cried the sky cried too and thats how the sound of raindrops soothes her. - AS Photo courtesy : https://google.com
